my bearded husband didn't think they stick well enough, and when i tried them they seemed the same as the Large size regular myo-tape... so i'm not sure why use the beard one? any answers?

It really does work with a beard!

I'm on the journey to retraining myself as a nose breather, and I thought I'd give MyoTape for beards a try. I have a beard. But I was quite skeptical: would the tape really stick to the beard? Well, yes! It took a couple of tries to get it right. The crucial thing is to actually follow the directions. : ) You MUST stretch the tape horizontally a good 20 - 30%, and you MUST press down on the tape a while for the glue to set into the beard. (And yes, it hurts a wee bit to remove it the next morning; but I've never seen evidence that it pulls any hairs out, and if you wear a beard, you should be able to deal with the pain.)
I purchased the tape before heading out for a 10-day holiday in a remote house without electricity, so wouldn't be able to use my CPAP. I have severe sleep apnea, in spite of being a fit, thin, non-smoking, tee-totaling, plant-based-diet eating, zen-meditating, bearded kind of guy, so needing the CPAP is a bit of an insult to my way of life. Anyway, this holiday offered a perfect opportunity to test what would happen if I only breathed through my nose while I slept. I thought that MyoTape would be a great help in this regard. My wife's report confirmed that with MyoTape I indeed breathed only through my nose. (Just for the record, I also used a chin strap, which did lend additional help toward keeping the mouth closed.) Unfortunately, I still managed to snore--but that's something that presents a different challenge.
I have continued using the tape since returning home and use of the CPAP, but now I am hopeful that regular nose-breathing exercises (and use of mouth tape) might some day eliminate snoring and maybe the need for the CPAP. We'll see about that. For now, I can heartily recommend MyoTape to fellow bearders who wish to keep their mouths shut while sleeping, and to anyone else trying to retrain their breathing mechanics.
